Clean your sponges

Picture1

That moment when you hear your kids playing pretend and you hear what you sound like when you are yelling or trying to guide your kids to your vision of them. Or just the sheer irascible temper you have as you are talking at your kids. Then your heart sinks out of embarrassment and helplessness because you don’t know how to change it. You need help and all the blogs and parenting advice in the world isn’t going to help you. The only thing that is going to change anything is God and giving it all up to him in the hope that he will change your heart and mind and fill you with grace and love for your little ones. In the prayer that they will grow up to be followers of Jesus Christ and the only way that will happen is by the example of you the parent. So while you sit there reading this know that I’m praying for me and you the mother who is tired, stressed, just wants and needs a break. I’m praying that God will calm your spirit and fill you with compassion and grace and patience for the little sponge that soaks in all you say and do. I’m praying for the mother and children and the responsibility God has given you to raise these sponges. So go and squeeze them and love them and guide them to the one who will love and care for them despite your faults and know God forgives and loves you the mother. The mother who sacrifices for these sponges. Just like a sponge left with dirty water in it  gets moldy so does a child who hears our harsh words. So squeeze out that dirty water and rinse them clean. You are a great mother with the most important job in the world. I’m praying for me and for you.

Blessings Kayleigh
